Role Overview
Responsible for managing Linux-based infrastructure, supporting secure remote access, monitoring systems and LSF environments, and ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems, including RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu environments.
- Configure and troubleshoot secure remote access using SSH, VPN, and ThinLinc.
- Create and modify scripts or applications to automate administrative tasks
- Provide user support and administration for collaboration tools like Confluence and Freshservice.
- LSF Monitoring:- Storage usage monitoring and cleanup notifications
– Long-running and abandoned job monitoring
– Job right-sizing analysis
– Monthly killed job analysis
– User communication and reporting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure needs and implement solutions.
- Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Perform routine server administration tasks such as system updates, patch management, andperformance monitoring.
- Ensure system security and integrity through regular audits and backups.
- Manage and optimize basic server services such as DNS, DHCP, and file systems.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu)
- Microsoft Active Directory
- AWS Administration
- NFS (Network File System)
- Scripting skills
- Bash / Python scripting
- LDAP / FreeIPA
- Exposure to LSF (training provided)
- Strong written communication
- VPN technologies and VNCs for secure remote access, Network file sharing systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Educational Qualifications
- Any technical degree or diploma in IT or Computer Science
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience as a Linux Administrator
Good to Have
- Storage Administration
- Experience with Confluence and Jira for documentation and task management
- Good understanding of authentication solutions such as LDAP and FreeIPA
